About the Event
Don’t miss the Press Club’s Annual Holiday Luncheon and Raffle!
The Delaware County Press Club’s annual Holiday Luncheon returns on Wednesday, December 14, 2022, at Fava Ristorante Italiano, with special guest speaker, award-winning broadcast journalist Pat Ciarrocchi.
Pat will conduct an EXCLUSIVE interview with Linda Hoffman Rydell. It will be Linda’s first interview since the passing of her husband, singer and actor Bobby Rydell. Linda will share stories about her life with Bobby and take questions from the audience.
Also appearing is Tommy C., The Voice of Tribute. Tommy will be premiering his music video, a new version of “Sway,” which brings the talented young singer and legendary pop star Bobby Rydell together for a duet posthumously. It’s the first video of its kind produced since Natalie Cole’s “Unforgettable” virtual duet with her late father Nat King Cole. Tommy will also be performing a couple of selections from his new Christmas album, “Christmastime is Here.”
The Holiday Luncheon will also feature the Press Club’s gift basket raffle, the Club’s only fundraiser. Attendees may purchase tickets for chances on gifts including restaurant gift cards, personal services, entertainment, artwork, books, Cheer basket, and more. Proceeds from the raffle fund the Press Club Annual Award for Excellence in Communications, providing financial assistance to a student majoring in communications at one of ten colleges and universities in the Greater Delaware County area.
All Press Club events are open to the public. Tickets for the Holiday Luncheon are $33 for members and $38 for nonmembers and walk-ins. Reservations are recommended but guests may also pay by cash, check, or credit card at the door.
The sit-down luncheon includes:
Pasta alla Vodka

About Pat Ciarrocchi
A Padua Academy and Rosemont College alumna, Pat joined CBS 3 in 1982 after leaving WHAG in Hagerstown, Maryland.
In her over 33 years as an anchor on CBS 3, Pat excelled in a variety of assignments: from anchoring the early morning (which grew from a half-hour to a two-hour staple in the market); co-anchoring the weekday noon newscast of CBS3 Eyewitness News on KYW-TV alongside Ukee Washington; anchoring the five p.m. newscast; to hosting "Evening Magazine" and "Talk Philly," the station’s popular lifestyle programs. She also served as the station’s medical reporter for five years.
Some of her most memorable work includes six overseas assignments at the Vatican: live reports at the canonization of Saint Katherine Drexel in 2000; at the funeral of Pope John Paul II in 2005; at the historic resignation of Pope Benedict XIV in 2013; and on the Philadelphia delegation 2014 visit to Rome to invite Pope Francis to the World Meeting of Families. She capped off her career coverage of the Catholic Church with more than 16 hours of live coverage during Pope Francis’ historic visit to Philadelphia in September 2015 for the international event.
She’s earned virtually every major honor in broadcasting including being the first woman inducted into the Pennsylvania Association of Broadcasters Hall of Fame in 2014. In 2000, she was inducted into the Philadelphia Broadcast Pioneers Hall of Fame. In 2015, she received the Silver Circle Award, recognizing individuals who have outstanding service in broadcasting for a minimum of 25 years, from the Mid-Atlantic chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. She’s also been honored with the nationally prestigious Gabriel Award from the Catholic Academy of Communications Arts, a CEBA Award, recognizing communications excellence to Black audiences, and a Sarah award from Women in Communications locally. Her work has also earned her multiple Philadelphia Emmy Awards.
Pat was the city's longest-tenured female anchor when she left CBS3 in 2015, saying she was "not retiring, but rebooting."
In 2020, she successfully underwent surgery for a brain tumor and shared her story with Ukee and her fans shortly afterward.
She’s currently in demand for speaking engagements and recently contributed articles to The Philadelphia Inquirer and The Delaware Valley Italian-American Herald.
